Voice

Vincenzo Capezzuto is a dancer by training and has performed as a soloist with distinguished companies including the Teatro di San Carlo Ballet Company in Naples, the English National Ballet and Julio Bocca’s Ballet Argentino among others. During his illustrious career he has collaborated with leading figures of contemporary choreography such as Willliam Forsythe and Mauro Bigonzetti and performed all of the classics of the ballet repertoire. In 2005 he received the Roscigno Danza Best Dancer Award and in 2012 the Giuliana Penzi Award.

A music lover, Vincenzo Capezzuto is also an excellent singer whose very clear, boyish, near-alto voice is hailed for its great natural qualities. He began this “second career” alongside the ensemble L’Arpeggiata. Their first joint album, Via Crucis (2010) was a great success and marked the beginning of a fruitful collaboration including, notably, the opus Music for a While, an experiment associating baroque musicians and jazzmen for rewritings of Purcell’s work. Since then, Capezzuto has sung in many of the great halls (Carnegie Hall, Wigmore Hall, Mozarteum…) alongside personalities such as Cecilia Bartoli and Philippe Jarousski, and ensembles such as Il Pomo d’oro and the European Baroque Orchestra.
