The violinist Monika Urbaniak began her artistic career at the Academy of Music in Lodz, in her native Poland, before perfecting her skills at the Bern University of Music with Professor Igor Ozim. There she obtained her soloist’s diploma with distinction. After winning the first prize at the Jahnke Competition and the special prize at the International Wieniawski Competition, she embarked on a magnificent career as a soloist, orchestral musician (Bern Camerata), chamber musician (Swiss Soloists Octuor) and, soon afterwards, as a pedagogue. Today, Monika Urbaniak is a professor at the Bern University of Music, an expert in competitions and examinations, and gives regular masterclasses throughout Europe. She plays a Vuillaume from 1840.
