Violin

Ewa took her first violin and piano lessons aged 6 with her father, a violinist at the Warsaw National Philharmony and her mother, a pianist.

 

In 2009, she graduated from the Frédéric Chopin University in Warsaw, studying with Professor K. Jakowicz and obtained a Master degree in violin (solo, pedagogy and orchestra).

 

She also studied with Annick Roussin at the Conservatoire Supérieur de Musique et de Danse in Lyon (France) and participated in master-classes in Germany, France and Canada with Sally Thomas, Wolfgang Marschner, William van der Sloot and Kazimierz Olechowski.

 

Ewa was awarded numerous prizes and awards in both national and international competitions : 3rd prize at the Aleksandra Januszajtis National Competition in Gdansk, Poland (1999), 2nd prize at the International Competition for String Instruments in Epernay, France (2006) and 5th prize at the Tadeusz Wronski International Competition for solo violin in Warsaw (2009).

 

She has played on stages in Poland, France, Germany, Switzerland, Cyprus, Canada and the Netherlands, performing as a soloist, in various chamber music ensembles and with orchestras.

 

Ewa is currently teaching violin at the Conservatoire Cantonal du Valais (Switzerland) and has been a member of the jury at the pedagogy exams at the Haute Ecole de Musique.
