American Anais Feller, 15, studied violin with teachers Tiffany Modell, Michael and Irina Tseitlin, Jina and Lucas Aleman, before entering the Colburn School of Music in Los Angeles, in the class of teacher Martin Beaver. She also attended masterclasses with Ray Chen, Leonidas Kavakos, Ida Kavafian and James Ehnes, among other teachers. She also regularly participates in numerous summer academies in Europe and the United States.
Anais has won a large number of competitions. Among the most recent are the Southern California Philharmonic Young Artist Competition, in 2020, where she won second prize, and the Burgos International Festival Competition (Spain), in 2019, where she won the gold medal.
Already very active, Anais has been able to perform with many orchestras, as a soloist, but also in various chamber music festivals: for example, she performed the Bach double concerto alongside Ray Chen at the Laguna Beach Music Festival (2020) or took part in the Basically Beethoven Festival in Dallas on several occasions, in chamber music programs.
“After almost a year of virtual lessons and recitals, I was thankful and super excited to have been selected. It was obvious that Mr. Pavel Vernikov, the founder of the competition, wished to promote the spirit of a music festival where all candidates were encouraged to share their music with passion. All along, I played my heart out for the enjoyment of the audience and the judges.
I am also very honored to have been awarded the orchestra prize. I particularly enjoyed playing with the orchestra and it is unique in a competition to play each round with them. It was also unique in that each candidate got to play a duet with another candidate and, in the final, with one of the jury members. I have learnt so much from these precious experiences.”
